It evokes passing comparisons to everything from Giant to Citizen Kane but its impossible to pigeonhole. Like Day-Lewis penetrating glare, the music sticks with you days and weeks after youve watched the movie. Together Day-Lewis and Dano produce the years most mercurial moments. A self-styled maverick of major ambition and, until now, minor films, director P.T. Anderson has achieved a bombastic breakthrough with There Will Be Blood.
